TPATB - Prologue

The Princess And The Barbarian.

**Prologue.**

Long ago in a distant land, there existed 2 Kingdoms. One Kingdom known as "Himil", was ruled by King Alexander and Queen Catherina, who was respected and loved by their people. King Alexander lived happily in his great palace with his beloved Princess and Queen. The other Kingdom known as "Halja", was ruled by Emperor Vulcan & Empress Tsunia. Vulcan was a great Barbarian Emperor who was feared by everyone for his cruel nature and lust for combat, yet he was respected by a majority of his people. Emperor Vulcan lived in his huge castle with his Prince and Empress. Both Kingdoms were rich and great, filled with many different people who looked up to their rulers and were blessed with good land and good homes. Lord Vulcan enjoyed his rule over his Kingdom as he hunted on the great plains with his comrades. For many years these two Kingdoms had lived together in perfect harmony...until one day.

Woden, who's a hunter and good friend of King Alexander and lived in the Kingdom Himil, went out hunting. Without realizing it, he had wandered into Halja's territory and caught a wild boar. He killed it, skinned it and took it back to Himil as a gift to the King. He didn't know that the watchmen's of Vulcan had seen him and they reported it to their Lord. Angered, Lord Vulcan ordered that Woden be brought to him to be punished for hunting on his land without his permission. Under the cover of the night, Halja's elite guards infiltrated the Kingdom of Himil and broke into the house of Woden, who was taken back to the Kingdom of Halja to await his punishment. When King Alexander heard of this, he demanded that he return Woden. Lord Vulcan decided to obey the King's wishes and did indeed return Woden...without his head.

Angered that his friend had been brutally killed, King Alexander declared war on the Kingdom of Halja for their cruel and barbarically way of life and that Emperor Vulcan would pay for his crime. The Emperor found this amusing and decided to accept King Alexander's challenge and go to war against the Kingdom of Himil and claim it for his own. Since that day on, the Great War between the two Kingdoms has begun. They fought against each other for years… Many blood was spilled…

Even though the war was scarring their land and many brave soldiers were lost, both sides grew incredibly stubborn and refused to give up believing that they were fighting for the right reasons. During one of the great battles, King Alexander defeated the Emperor's most loyal warrior, Chancellor Cole, and took him prisoner. Cole had killed many soldiers and even tortured them in brutal ways that he had become both feared and hated. Because of his crimes, he was publicly executed within the Kingdom of Himil. After hearing this, Emperor Vulcan made a vow to King Alexander that he will take his most precious treasure away, so that he would never see it again.
